Warwickshire School Championship were held in Nuneaton this year on Saturday 8th June. The conditions were not ideal for a championships events for our Leamington C&AC youngster. We start with the track results. 

100m Matthew Ashbourne was 6th in a time of 12.6s

Rhy Bennett won his 300m in a time of 40.1s And Holly Pater also won her 300 in 45.5s

Rome Vople (54.8s)and Jack Bower (57.2s) both ran in the 400m coming 5th and 6th

Jai Sispal won his 800m by 16seconds in a time of 2.01.0, already gaining English school standard in the week at the Warwickshire open meeting of 1:55.96 PB. Rosie Cale has fab race winning the 800m in PB time of 2.22.9, knocking 2seconds off. Molly Minshull came 5th in the same race also running a PB of 2.31.6.

Emma Dabson came 3rd the 1500m running a PB in 5,11,2 and Melanie Gould was 6th in 5.18.1

Ella Bower was 2nd in the 75m hurdles (13.6s) Jai Sispal again PB in the 100m hurdles coming 2nd 14.2s.

Emily Lovett won the 1500m steeple case in 5.58.7.

Jai and Matthew were both part of the Central 4x100m relay team who won in 45.8s

Moving to the field events Freya Dalrymple was 2nd in the high jump jumping 1.35m

Lauren Healy was 3rd the long jump with a jump of 4.09m

Jack Bower was 2nd I the triple jump with 11.54 and Rhys Bennet won his Triple jump with a PB of 11.67. Rosie Cale was 3rd I her triple jump, jumping 9.52 after running her 800m. 

Ardal Yallop was 2nd in the Shot putt with a throw of 10.40. Sophie Hurt won her shot putt with a throw of 9.65m 

Alys Clarke also won with a throw 9.77m and threw the discus coming 2nd with a PB of 17.22m.

Ardal Yallop won his hammer throw with aPB of 29.98m, Sophie also won with a throw of 33.42 and lily Clark broke the 30m barrier with a B of 30.54.

Matthew Ashbourne was 5th in the Javelin with 34.73. Lauren won her Javelin with 31.69m and Lydia Mitchell also won the Javelin with 30,26m.Megan Marsh (22.98m) and Freya Dalrymple  (PB 20.84m) came 4th and 5th in their Javelin. 

Lastly the Pole Vault competition was cancelled due to the weather, Cameron Willson-Stein has also got the English School Standard of 4.20. 

All athlete who came 1st and 2nd go though to the Mason Trophy this weekend in Birmingham, with a few still looking for the English School standard for the National Championships.
