All the Leamington C & AC young athletes races preceded the Seniors. The Under 13 Boys were first to run with steady running over the 3K course from Harry Bailey 24th in 12.07, Sam Morrey 29th in 12.31, Rouric Winston 30th in 12.35 and younger brother Diarmuid 32nd in 12.51 to finish 7th in the team placings.
The Under 13 Girls, also running 3K, finished in a good 4th team place with a strong run from Mel Gould for 9th, well backed up by Eva Fitzpatrick 14th, Hannah Cooper 20th and Megan Marsh 33rd.
The Under 15 Girls on the 4K course packed well in the middle of the race with Lucy Green leading them in 21st, Rositsa Gugatkova 23rd and Amber Ballard 26th to finish in 6th place in the team results.
Georgina Hurt was the club’s only runner in the Under 17 Women’s race which was a full 5K course run jointly with the Under 20’s. Georgina ran determinably for 12th in 23.11.
The Under 17 Men, again running with the Under 20’s , finished just outside the team medals in 4th. A superb run from Cian McKeaney undeterred by stepping up to the 6K course and running with the U 20’s ran superbly for the bronze medal in 21.13. Dom Priest finished strongly for 7th in 21.54 and Sam Lubrano worked hard for 25th in 27.00. The Under 20 Men only had two runners with Kieran Chahal running confidently from the start to finish just off bronze in an excellent 4th with 20.40 and Dean Mawby giving strong support for 8th in 21.28. A third runner would have secured 2nd in the overall results.
