The wet weather did not seem to put local athletes off competing in the Warwickshire Road Race League on Wednesday which saw the fourth race of the season take place in Memorial Park, Coventry. Leamington C&AC ladies remained in top form taking the team win with Natalie Bhangal finishing second lady in 31:12 closely followed by teammate Hannah Thorpe in 31:24. Jenny Jeeves was 11th lady across the line but took the winning prize for her age category in a time of 33:05 with Jade Holt just behind in 33:27. 16 Leamington C&AC athletes braved the conditions with Richard Hood finishing first for the club in 28:42, Iain Mclauglin pushing to the line to finish just 3 seconds behind. Rest from the Sphinx 5 was not an option with the fifth race, the Arden 9, taking place on Sunday, which saw the third race in one week for the more stoical racers. The weather was somewhat kinder for the 9 mile race around Hampton-in Arden and on occasions the runners found themselves running in sunshine. Jenny Jeeves and Courtney Depala helped the ladies team come third overall on the day finishing in 1:01:54 and 1:10:46 respectively. Dominic Priest won his age category and was 6th to cross the line overall in a time of 51:50, whilst the second LCAC runner home was Vassilis Andreoulakis who was 17th in a time of 53:26 taking home first prize in his age category.
