Despite the heat, Leamington C&AC walked away with an array of wins at the local Northbrook 10k race on Sunday including both men and women’s team prize. A hot uphill start saw runners hitting the more rural roads of Allesley in what is described as an “undulating” course. Paul Andrew was not feeling 100% but still managed to finish 5th overall and first back for the local club. Phil Gould had only decided to race earlier in the day having competed in 4 events at a track and field event the day before. Gould ran a confident race finishing 7th. Backed up by Vassilis Andreoulakis in 10th and Dean Mawby in 14th the men took the team prize as well as Andrew, Gould and Andreoulakis all taking prizes for their relevant age categories. The ladies also showed their strength with Kelly Edwards running a personal best and finishing first lady in a time of 38:44. Team mates Wendy Daniels and Sue Harrison joined her in the winning team, Harrison also collecting an individual prize.
Earlier in the morning, the youth squad showed the future of the club with James Gould finishing 4th in the 2k fun run with Johnathon Ingram just behind in 5th place and Rocco Secker in 15th.
