- Come and join our squad of young athletes for the 2019 season. Whether your aims are to be the next olympic champion or you just want to try something new, we have sessions to suit all levels.
- There are NO WAITING LISTS currently for any of the groups.
- Starting age is from 4 years old taking part in Athletics 365 sessions where the emphasis is on having FUN.
- Progression to U9 in school year 3 followed by U11.
- Our U13/U15 & U17/U20 squads compete in national T&F league matches through the summer and cross country leagues though the winter.
The race is pay/enter-on-the-day only with a limit of 300 runners.
For the second year we will operate an online registration system to assist with the smooth running on the day. Please register for the race in advance using the on line form on this page. This is to save you and us time on the day and it doesn’t matter if you cannot run or don’t show on the day.
However, number bib collection and payment (sorry cash only) will take place on the morning on the race. Alternatively, you should download, complete and print an entry form and bring it with you but the form is much simpler if you have not registered in advance.
Your information will only be used to produce race results. It may be shared with other races in the WRRL but only for the production of race results.
The Monty 5 is intended as a low cost competitive race for WRRL athletes and this is the 7th race in the WRRL 2019 series. The entry fee is £5 for members of WRRL clubs and £7 for unattached athletes and members of clubs not affiliated to Warwickshire County AA. Please bring the right money. There are no medals or awards for this race.

The Monty 5k
21st July 2019 start at 10.30am
From Edmondscote Stadium, Leamington Spa, CV32 6AD
The race has a UKA measurement certificate and a UKA permit. It is exactly 5km. There will be distance markers at each kilometre.
The course is very flat and very fast. It starts with a lap and a half of the track then heads towards the town centre though Victoria Park. At the edge of the town the route returns alongside the river Leam for a second lap before returning to the track for an Olympic style finish, with a lap of the track.
Water will be available at the end of the race only and refreshments will be available on site.
For those of you who know Edmondscote please park in the big field next door not immediately by the Club room.
Note that it is a requirement of UKA rules that attached athletes declare their EA affiliation number on the entry form and the race promoters are obliged to check them. Your number is on your plastic EA identity card and is 7 digits numeric. Entrants must be aged at least 15 on the day of the race.
There is car parking, changing facilities, toilets and showers at Edmondscote – all free to race entrants. Refreshments will be on sale on the day.
Results will be posted on this website and Power of 10 after the race plus a copy on the (outside) Notice Board as soon as possible. The results and up dated position of the WRRL will also be made asap.
2019 Club Championships – Sunday 8th September
The main Club Champs day will take place on Sunday September 8th between 10am-5pm.
Some events will be held prior to that date so that the main Sunday will run more efficiently. Those events are listed below,
This event is completely free to members of LC&AC including the Thursday U11 junior group.
As normal the championship will conclude with a BBQ at the end of events on Sunday. Due to a challenging events calendar this year, we have compressed the timetable. The event is primarily for club members therefore they have priority over the events.
We request that competitors be responsible and restrict the number of events they enter in the interests of their own health. Under 11s and 13s take part in a Quad kids combined event competition. Under 15s/17s performance scores over their best 5 events. This includes the endurance events held prior to the event.
The scoring system will be the same as 2016, a British Athletics points scoring table for the older age groups. Your top 5 scoring events will make up your final score with all participants (exc. U11/U13 athletes) taking part in 1 jump, 1 throw and 1 run, along with 2 more disciplines of the athletes choice. Athletes from the senior age group up, are eligible to compete in as many races as they wish however, only the top 5 events will qualify to the overall score.

Your club is run by a group of people that all have something in common – they all give up their time to provide high quality and professional coaching, officiating, team & event management and administration on a voluntary basis. Without them none of this would be possible. Even though we currently have a large dedicated team, there are still a number of areas that additional help would be highly valued.

Additionally, the meeting secretary should work closely with the chair person to coordinate a meeting agenda for the monthly meetings. The club will pay for all course fees. All we ask is that you work with our coaching team in delivering the sessions to our young athletes. You won’t be left on your own and will be supported by a coach at all times. In the case of officials we would ask that you can help out at any of our league matches or Warwickshire Opens.
