A chilly morning greeted our runners at Warwick castle, but Alan’s dulcet tones over the speaker put us all in the mood for a good mornings race. We made our way down to the start line escorted by Paul Muddeman and Andy lined up on the start line, the rest of us holding back a little. As we made our way over the line and towards Kenilworth we were encouraged by helpful words from the Marshall’s along the way, including Alex and Noel to name a few. The club had 29 runners taking place, with a good spread across the field underlining the breadth of abilities in the club, with many members running the race for the first time. Richard Harper and Andy Savery battled it out for first place, with Richard just beating Andy to the post, but I am sure everyone will agree that it is great to see Richard back in a Leamington vest and 2 club athletes battling it out for 1st place. A great performance from Jamie as well, following a great performance in London 7 weeks ago to capture 7th and an equally great performance from Guy Allen to get 1st in his age category. The next league fixture is this coming Wednesday.
